Previous Wayne's Words in the year of 2007

Waynesword is back.

February 2007. Involuntarily, I took a hiatus from cyberspace for a bit. Through a confluence of unfortunate events, as they say, the server my tech-guy had recommended for my website had all of their hard drives confiscated for some reason I still can’t fathom, and my entire 6-year conglomeration of webpages was lost.

Waynesword—March into April ‘07

The Downtown scene... on an Off-day... On a Saturday in early March I’m driving down Broadway in Saratoga Springs with my son and his friend to drop them off at the new Y to play some hoop.

May into June Waynesword

It’s finally lush and plush around here again and like spring itself, I am late in welcoming May. I don’t remember a year in the past whenthe trees along the Northway were still bare stick-figures into the first week of May.

July King Of Months.

JULY doesn’t get enough credit as the king of months.  In June there are school finals and graduations, and year-end parties and celebrations,  the hustle of planning vacations and feeling like you can’t relax quite yet.  In our extended family

Waynesword August 2007

“The sky is filled, with good and bad, mortals never know…” "The Battle of Evermore" Jimmy Page/Robert Plant, from Led Zeppelin IV

This month I want to talk about more cheerful things than market gluts and flat or faltering stats:  I want to bless the bounteous return of bluebirds, the abundance of monarch butterflies, and my wife’s colorful landscaping, which might have helped attract them.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world…” --Jerry Garcia

People have said to me, do you write a real estate blog?  I said no, I’ve never used that word, but maybe I should start.   That seems to be what people crave—the fast-food of thought, the instant cup o’ reaction.  But I imagine myself more of an essayist, procrastinating my thought processes for too long to be a minute-by-minute blogger.

It is enough for me to contemplate the mystery
of conscious life perpetuating itself through all eternity…
and to try to humbly comprehend…the intelligence
manifested in nature.

NEWS, BUSINESS, SPORTS, & WEATHER, IN REVERSE ORDER…

“T-T-T-Talk about the weather…”
                           -- Dave Matthews:

So Much to Say”   October was warmer than normal up here right till the end—the kids were not freezing in their costumes on Hallowe’en, like it seemed we usually were, 4 decades ago...

Waynesword December 2007

“Th-the-That that don’t kill me, only makes me stronger… I need you to hurry up, man, ‘cuz I cain’t wait much longer…” --Kanye West, Stronger
Well I’d like Kanye West to address the past year’s Market in real estate, because despite my attempts at sunny monthly re-caps, I’d be lying if I didn't’t admit it’s been a tougher year to make headway in real estate than any in the past decade—for me and for just about everyone I know.
